Amflow Review (2025): Amflow PL Carbon Pro – How Good Is It?

October 9, 2025

The 2025 Amflow PL Carbon Pro has officially landed in Australia — and unsurprisingly, it’s made quite the splash. The DJI brand, widely recognised as one of the world’s top drone manufacturers, has leveraged its expertise to create Amflow Bikes, a premium electric mountain bike company.

Frankly, we’re so glad they did.

In this review, we’re going to unpack what’s new with this model, as well as how it rides, and whether it’s worth the premium price tag. Let’s jump in.

2025 Amflow PL Carbon Pro Overview

The Amflow PL Carbon Pro made its first appearance at the 2024 Eurobike Expo, where it instantly became one of the most talked-about bikes of the year. As DJI’s first full-scale entry into the e-MTB market, it brings an entirely new level of refinement to the category.

It’s fully kitted out with a featherlight carbon frame, an all-new advanced DJI Avinox M1 motor, and one of the most seamless integrations of smart technology that we’ve ever seen on an e-bike.

The Specs

Here’s what the 2025 Amflow PL Carbon Pro brings to the table:

  • Frame: Full carbon fibre chassis with 160 mm front and 150 mm rear travel

  • Motor: DJI Avinox M1 mid-drive system (105 Nm torque, 850–1000 W peak output)

  • Battery: 600 Wh or optional 800 Wh removable DJI Powerpack

  • Fork & Shock: Fox 36 Factory 160 mm / Fox Float X rear shock

  • Brakes: Magura MT7 Pro 4-piston hydraulic brakes

  • Drivetrain: SRAM XO AXS wireless 12-speed

  • Wheels & Tyres: Amflow carbon wheels / Maxxis Assegai and Dissector combo

  • Display: 2-inch OLED touchscreen with Avinox app integration

  • Weight: ≈ 19.2 kg (600 Wh) – 20.0 kg (800 Wh)

What’s New?

Most will agree that the biggest leap forward on the 2025 Amflow PL Carbon Pro is the Avinox drive system. The new mid-drive motor delivers up to 105 Nm of torque and a short-burst Rocket Boost mode for an eye-watering 1,000 W of peak power.

There’s also a refined carbon chassis for better stiffness-to-weight ratio, plus a 2-inch OLED touchscreen display that syncs with DJI’s app for live ride stats, anti-theft alerts, and GPS tracking. Combine that with faster charging, an optional 800 Wh battery, and under-seat charger storage, and you’ve got a bike that is just as smart as it looks.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Amflow PL Carbon Pro sits firmly in premium e-MTB territory, with prices starting around $13,999 AUD for the 600 Wh model. Riders chasing extra range can opt for the 800 Wh battery, which adds a little more weight but noticeably extends your riding time.

Granted, no one is marketing this bike as the budget option. But for those looking for a cutting-edge product—and who are willing to pay for it—the Carbon Pro will give you everything you wanted and then some.

The DJI Avinox Motor: Is It Worth the Hype?

The motor that sits at the heart of the Amflow PL Carbon Pro is a bit mind-boggling. The DJI Avinox M1 motor weighs only 2.5 kgs and delivers up to 105 Nm of torque and 1,000 W of peak power. That makes it just about the most powerful eMTB motor you can buy.

But the innovation doesn’t just stop there. If we zoom out and look at the drivetrain as a whole, we quickly see that the ultra-efficient compound planetary gear system is equally responsible for the Carbon Pro’s incredible numbers. Not only does it keep things whisper-quiet, but it also ensures that every last Newton-meter of torque is transferred to the back wheel.

How Does It Perform on the Trails?

Climbing: With 105 Nm of torque, the PL Carbon Pro climbs like a beast. The motor’s instant response and adaptive Auto mode make steep ascents feel effortless, adjusting power seamlessly as gradients change.

Descending: The Fox 36 Factory fork and Float X shock deliver a perfect balance of control and comfort. Combined with Magura MT7 Pro brakes, it’s smooth, planted, and confidence-inspiring on descents.

Handling: At around 20 kg, the bike feels nimble yet composed. Its low centre of gravity gives a balanced ride, though the 19-inch front tyre can feel twitchy on rocky trails.

Range: Expect all-day endurance. DJI claims up to 157 km of range in Eco mode, with the 800 Wh battery offering serious staying power.

How Does It Compare to Other Electric Mountain Bikes?

When stacked against heavy-hitters like the Specialized Levo, Trek Fuel EXe, or Giant Trance E+, the Amflow PL Carbon Pro punches well above its weight. Most full-power e-MTBs offer around 85–90 Nm of torque and 750 W of peak output — but the Amflow’s 105 Nm and 1,000 W make it noticeably more aggressive. Add in the integrated OLED display and DJI app connectivity, and it easily stands out—even at its price point.

Final Thoughts: Should You Buy It?

We think the Amflow PL Carbon Pro pushes e-MTB design forward in all the right ways. The Carbon Pro gives the people what they want: power, lightness, and technology.

Here are the top pros and cons you should think about when deciding whether to buy one:

Pros:

  • Outstanding power-to-weight ratio with 105 Nm torque and sub-20 kg build

  • Smart integration with OLED display, app control, and Rocket Boost mode

  • Fast charging and long range, with up to 157 km on the 800 Wh battery

Cons:

  • Premium price tag
