FAQ

Why is the notice period so short?

Melbourne weather. Simple as that.
We lock dates 5–7 days out once the forecast looks stable. It’s the only way to avoid last-minute cancellations and muddy write-offs.

Why are spots so limited?

So you actually get proper ride time.

We run small groups to avoid rushed laps and bike bottlenecks. As a retailer, we bring a mix of the world’s best electric dirt bikes, not multiples of the same model, so riding and charging needs to be carefully managed.

Limiting spots keeps the experience smooth, fair, and genuinely useful.

Why is there a cost to test ride?

Test ride days run at $125 per rider, which includes:

  • Up to two electric dirt bike test rides
  • Full ride-day access at the track
  • The option to bring your own bike (petrol or electric) and ride outside your test sessions

The fee helps cover staffing, generators, logistics, and bike prep, plus wear and tear. These bikes are ridden hard on track and won’t be sold as new afterward, so the cost helps us run proper test ride days without cutting corners.

Can I test ride more than two bikes?

Officially, bookings are capped at two bikes per rider.

If there’s spare availability on the day and a bike isn’t charging, we may offer additional rides - but this isn’t guaranteed.

Why can’t I test ride at the store?

Electric dirt bikes require private property and proper tracks.
We take the bikes to a motorcross track and let you ride them the way they’re meant to be ridden.

Do I need riding experience?

Not necessarily. Our test ride venues suit a wide range of riders, from beginners to experienced motocross riders.

These days are for riders genuinely considering an electric dirt bike. If electric riding is new to you, a test ride is the best way to understand how these bikes feel in a proper, controlled environment.

If you’re new, you’ll be able to ride at your own pace.
If you already ride, you’ll feel right at home.

This isn’t about joy laps, it’s about real seat time and making an informed decision.

What happens if the weather turns bad?

If the forecast shows unsafe or unrideable conditions, the day is postponed.

We’ll communicate clearly via SMS and email, and options will be provided if that happens.

How do I make sure I don’t miss out?

Register your interest.
Registered riders get:

  • First heads-up
  • First access to bookings
  • Priority over public releases
Do I need riding gear (MX helmet, MX gloves, MX boots)?

Yes, proper riding gear is required.

Ideally, bring your own MX helmet, MX gloves, MX boots and long pants.

We have a limited number of helmets and gloves available on the day.

CityMX also offers gear hire if needed.
Ride Park (Parwan) you’ll need to bring your own safety gear.
