Work at Melbourne Powered Work here. Ride everything.

Melbourne's 2nd best bike shop is hiring. Riders always come 1st here.

We're a Bosch-certified e-bike and e-moto retailer and workshop in Ascot Vale.
On the e-bike side, we stock Focus, Tern, Kalkhoff, Amflow and more - electric commuters, cargo bikes, eMTBs, kids bikes, done properly.
On the e-moto side, we're one of Melbourne's go-to destinations for Sur-Ron, Stark Varg, E Ride Pro, Talaria, DXE Racing and more.
Both sides run at a high standard. We're proud of that.

Part of the job is actually getting to know the products properly.
We make time for that - deep dives into new gear, understanding what makes it tick, the occasional team ride. If you read tech specs for fun, you'll fit right in.

We're not looking for people who just want a job. E-bike person, e-moto person, or both, we'll find the right fit based on who you are.

Workshop

WORKSHOP MECHANIC

E-Bike, E-Moto, or Both.

Our electric focused workshop runs the full spectrum. On the e-bike side that means builds, safety checks, diagnostics, repairs, warranty assessments, conversions, and performance and aesthetic upgrades. On the e-moto side, similar deal — Sur-Ron, E Ride Pro, Stark Varg builds, diagnostics, performance upgrades, and everything in between.

We're on the hunt for a bike mechanic, e-bike mechanic, e-moto mechanic, or someone who loves all of it. Formal experience preferred, genuine passion considered. Hunger and eagerness come with the territory.

You're probably a good fit if you're:

  • Mechanically minded with a genuine interest in electric bikes or e-motos
  • Detail oriented — you do it right the first time
  • Eager to learn and keep up with a fast-moving product category
  • Someone who'd rather be in a workshop than behind a desk

To apply, send us:

  • Your resume
  • A short intro — tell us who you are, what you ride or wrench on, and why Melbourne Powered sounds like your kind of place

Showroom

SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

E-Bike, E-Moto, or Both.

Floor sales and customer experience at our Ascot Vale showroom. You'll be across the full range — electric commuters, cargo bikes, eMTBs, Sur-Rons, Stark Vargs, and everything in between.

This isn't just about selling big ticket bikes — it's finding the right bike for the customer and their needs. You'll also be helping customers find the right parts and accessories, booking and scheduling services, bike drop offs and working out real solutions for how and what people want to ride. We treat customers the way we'd want to be treated — honestly, without the upsell pressure.

Someone who genuinely loves the products will always beat a slick sales pitch here. Retail experience is a bonus, product passion is the requirement. Saturday availability is a must.

You're probably a good fit if you're:

  • A natural communicator who listens before they pitch
  • Genuinely excited about electric bikes, e-motos, or both
  • Someone who takes pride in getting customers to the right decision, not just any decision
  • Comfortable across retail, e-commerce, and everything in between

Creative

FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Retainer + Project. Remote.

We're looking for a freelance graphic designer to be our go-to creative across both brands on an ongoing basis. Not a one-off — a proper working relationship with someone who knows our brands, gets our voice, and can hit the ground running when something's coming up.

The work spans campaigns, events and demo days, seasonal promotions like EOFY, in-store and event signage, web banners, social media assets, and merch and apparel artwork. You'll work from a detailed brief, a rough sketch, or occasionally just a vibe and a deadline. Comfortable with all three is ideal.

This is an adhoc arrangement — roughly a couple of days of work per month, more during busy seasons. It suits someone already working part-time or freelancing in the creative space who's after a side gig with real variety and a brand worth working on.

You're probably a good fit if you're:

  • Strong eye for bold, fun, considered design — not corporate, not generic
  • Able to inject humour and personality into your work without it feeling forced
  • Comfortable across both digital and print-ready output
  • Based anywhere in Australia — this is fully remote work
  • Into riding in some form — you don't need to be an e-bike tragic, but you should get the culture

To apply, send us:

  • Your portfolio or a link to your work
  • A 30-second video intro — phone is fine, no editing needed. Tell us who you are, what you're working on, if you ride, and why this sounds like your kind of gig

No lengthy applications, no forms. Just show us your work and talk to us like a human.

What working here actually looks like

01

Small team. Real responsibility.

You won't be a number — you'll be part of a crew that genuinely gives a damn.

02

Coffee that means it.

We've got a full Italian lever press machine and quality beans on tap. If you don't know how to use it yet, someone will teach you. Probably Hotsauce.

03

Gear discounts that are actually generous.

We stock some of the best electric bikes and e-motos in the game. As part of the team, you get access to serious discounts on the products we carry. Ride what you sell, for a lot less than everyone else pays.

04

Lunch on us. Once a month.

We run a monthly social e-bike ride with a local food stop built in. One of the team gets to take the ultimate e-commuter out, eat well, and yes — there may be some camera time involved. Consider light food reviewing duties part of the job description.

05

Christmas parties that actually go somewhere.

We don't do sit-down dinners. Previous outings have involved riding, driving, fishing charters, and paintball. It changes every year. It's never boring.

06

Ride days and demo events.

We run social rides, demo days, and ride events throughout the year. As part of the team, you're part of that too — not watching from the sidelines.

Still reading? That's a good sign.
