Electric Bike Conversion

Real world example

Sometimes you already have a great bike that you've spent time and effort on that feels and rides how you like.
Here's a great example of an electric bike conversion done with this in mind.

These Specialized Fatboy’s are already a fun way to ride, more traction, grip and floatation than traditional mountain bike tires and now more OOMPH with a electric bike conversion done by the experienced team at Melbourne Powered.

While servicing and repairing all bikes, electric power is our speciality.
This customer already had a fairly well researched vision for his bike and we worked with the customer to come up with the build plan.

We pride ourselves on providing customers with honest advice on whether their bicycle can be safety converted.

Drive train (Before and After)

Upgraded to a Bafang mid-drive motor with Bafang specific Lekkie narrow-wide chainring and crankset.
Narrow-wide chainrings are useful to stop the chain from falling off the single front chainring.

Lekkie Bling Ring

Keeping with the all-black theme a Lekkie Bling Ring 36t in black was selected along with the Bafang crank arms.
The chain was inspected, deemed in great enough condition and decided that it can handle the extra load from the electric power.

Eggrider V2 Display

EggRider V2 for Bafang is the fusion of a Bluetooth e-bike display with a mobile app, allowing you to enhance the performance of your e-bike ride.

Battery bag

With a wide range of battery mounting options available.
Battery cradles, frame mounting, rack mounts in this 'case' the customer supplied his own bag and battery for us to install.

All ready to ride

Conversion to electric almost complete but not before our mechanics test ride to ensure the electric motor, sensors, gears and brakes are all working perfectly before handover back to our customer.

If your thinking about powering your ride and converting your bike into an e-bike.
We have performed e-conversions on road bikes, mountain bikes, tricycles, fat tyre and cargo bikes.
