Charging is refreshingly simple too — a standard charge will take about 4–6 hours, while fast-charging can top it up in roughly half that time. The upgraded 52 V system also means better overall efficiency and a noticeable boost in torque and acceleration without sacrificing range.

Features and Tech

Despite its tough looks, the Fatboy Scrambler V2 is actually quite refined under the metaphorical hood. 

Front and centre is a bright colour LCD display, giving you real-time speed, range, and battery data at a glance. It even includes USB charging, so you can top up your phone or GPS on the go. Lighting is handled by a super-bright 3-stage LED headlight with a daytime running mode, complemented by a strong rear light for night visibility.

Braking is handled by 203mm Tektro hydraulic discs, offering confident stopping power even on steep descents or wet roads. Add to that the adjustable front and rear suspension, and you’ve got the full package. 

How the Fatboy Scrambler Compares to Alternatives

When you stack the Fatboy Scrambler V2 against bikes like the Talaria xXx Pro or Sur-Ron Light Bee, its advantages and trade-offs become pretty clear. 

Compared to those, the Scrambler leans more toward comfort, utility, and urban/off-road duality than pure trail aggression. It carries more cargo, offers passenger capability, and feels more stable in relaxed ride modes.

It must also be said, it’s a good couple of thousand dollars cheaper than both of those models as well.

Honestly, it’d be faster just to list who shouldn’t buy the Fatboy Scrambler V2. Basically, anyone who can ride a bike and has a pulse should buy this bike. 

If you’re particularly interested in versatility and personality in a bike, then this is the model for you. It’s the weekend warrior that the Aussie e-bike market has been crying out for. 

Pros and Cons of the Fatboy Scrambler V2

This bike genuinely does so much right that it’s actually pretty difficult to pick a fault. But in the interest of this being a fair Fatboy Scrambler review, we had to find a few.

Pros:

  • Powerful motor performance: The 52V Bafang hub motor delivers 1560W peak power, giving the Scrambler that instant, grin-inducing torque that riders love.

  • Comfort and versatility: Dual suspension, a grippy two-seater, and a 180kg load rating make it great for both solo rides and two-up cruising.

Cons:

  • Weight: At over 35kg, it’s not the easiest to lift or transport.

  • Throttle restrictions: Legal limitations mean full power can only be used on private property.

  • Price: Sits at the upper end of e-bike pricing in the Fat Tyre E-bike category, though we feel that’s more than justified by its specs.
